Working as A Veterinary Medical Intern in Europe – What Can I Expect?

As a veterinary medical intern in Europe, you will be based at either a veterinary practice or dog shelter in the city of Brasov, or at a bear sanctuary near the Carpathian Mountains. As an intern in the city, you will be involved in owner relations, assisting with surgeries, and the general care and feeding of animals. At the bear sanctuary, interns help prepare food for bears, feeding them, and assist with vaccinations and disinfestations. During your internship, punctuality and professionalism are highly expected. Interns are usually required to work an average of 30 hours per week. While knowledge of Romanian is not necessary, most veterinary interns will be expected to be proficient in English.
